Coverdell Center for Biomedical and Health Sciences Room 175 Sponsored by: Biomedical and Health Sciences Institute Contact: Rebecca Ayer Public Relations Coordinator 706-542-1016  “When Religion and Children’s Health Care Collide: Ethics and Options,” Juliet Guichon, University of Calgary.  A look at two recent cases in Canada where sexism and the reluctance to criticize religion may work against the best interests of children, and addresses possible policy solutions.Guichon is an assistant professor of community health sciences in the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Medicine. Her scholarship explores human vulnerability at the intersection of law, health care, ethics, religion and journalism.  Guichon holds a bachelor of arts in history from Yale University, as well two bachelor degrees in law and a master of arts, also from Oxford.  After being called to the Bar of Ontario and working in a law firm, she studied at the University of Toronto, where she received a doctorate degree on the ethics of assisted human reproduction.   http://www.biomed.uga.edu
