So you’ve grown lots of great vegetables and fruits during the summer months or you’ve bought in bulk from local farmers…how do you preserve all this for the winter months??This hands-on workshop will teach you how preserve your food using a water bath canner and a pressure canner. We’ll discuss the proper way to handle food before it’s canned and how to ensure a long shelf life.During the class we’ll can some jam using seasonal fruits and can some soup with meat in the pressure canner.There’s an amazing feeling of self sufficiency when the pantry shelves are full of food that you’ve preserved yourself!
