We hope that you will join in our excitement as we prepare for the 21st year of Camp Oo-U-La®; Georgia’s only camp program designed exclusively for burn injured children.The GFBF has learned much about the needs of this unique population of young people over the years through past experiences, collaborations and information gathering. With this knowledge comes the responsibility to put forth our best efforts to provide benefit to the children we serve. The goals remain, to provide children an exciting fun-filled week of wonderful memories, but also provide them with encouragement & coping skills applicable to their everyday lives.In our attempts to improve upon programs and services, there have been some modifications recently decided upon by the Board of Directors that we believe will greatly enhance the camp experience for both our children and volunteers. We can all agree that progress cannot happen without change, but unfortunately, that which is unfamiliar, is sometimes difficult to accept.There has been quite a bit of inaccurate information circulated which has caused some confusion and stress surrounding the future of camp.  In response to this regrettable situation, the GFBF is sending out an invitation for everyone to attend a Camp Oo-U-La® “open meeting” to provide program information, answer questions and address any concerns people may have…it will also be a great time to re-connect with old friends!The meeting is scheduled for Saturday, February 09, from 12:00p-3:00p at Camp Twin Lakes’ Will-A-Way facility at Fort Yargo State Park, Winder, GA.We ask that you please RSVP, as lunch will be provided.For those not able to attend, please feel free to contact the GFBF offices at 404-320-6223 with any questions or concerns you may have about the upcoming camp program.We look forward to seeing you there!2013 Camp Oo-U-La® Applications Coming Soon!
