Four Freeing Attitudes: Kindness, Compassion, Appreciation, and EquanimityA Daylong Meditation Retreat The Brahmaviharas are four states of mind that are both innate and learnable. They include lovingkindness, compassion, appreciation, and equanimity. We will explore each of these attitudes using techniques from Theravada Buddhism. Participants will learn simple methods that offer increasing benefit with practice over time. With a strong foundation in lovingkindness or goodwill, we can meet life's pain with compassion, life's joy with appreciation, and all events with equanimity. All are welcome. Some meditation experience is preferable but not required.
