Parker is a cute miniature dachshund who is only 10 pounds! He was a little shy when we first got him, but within just a little bit, he’s become a total snuggle bug!

He is still learning crate training and housebreaking. He’s starting to learn to give signals on when he needs to go outside. He has also mastered the crate – he can get a little lonely, but he understands now that you are coming back, so he doesn’t cry. He met an older kid and while the noise and energy was a little overwhelming for him, he was gentle and loving. He might be best in a home without kids, or with much older kids…he just seems to prefer a quiet place.

Parker doesn’t live with any dogs in his house and at first can be a little scared of them. He just needs a slow introduction so they can all be sure they want to be friends, and then he will be fine! He can get a little nervous if the dog is overly playful, but if the dog just wants to hang out, could Parker in! Parker does live with cats right now and is great with them!

Parker is learning to live the good life and is still a little scared of new things – like loud noises. He just needs a little more time to settle in and he’ll be good to go! He’s a pretty laid back guy, but like most dachshunds, he will need a few short walks a day. They can be short because his little legs have to work five times as hard as ours to keep up!

One thing Parker has learned to love already is belly rubs. He is happy to roll on over while you scratch and it puts a big smile on his face! He uses his big brown eyes to convey all the love he feels for you – it will make your heart melt!
