In a story that sounds more like Halloween than health news, Australian researchers are conducting a trial to see if venom from funnel-web spiders and tarantulas can be used to kill breast cancer cells.

Researchers at the University of Queensland's Institute of Molecular Bioscience have stockpiled venom from funnel-webs to conduct the trial.

On another front down under, researchers at the University of Western Australia are behind a new breath test which could measure substances in the breath and give an early warning of breast cancer. The breath test is currently being tested in the United States and Israel.
